SC&C Corporate Social Responsibility Commitment (CSR)
Welcome to our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) webpage, a strategic part of how we as an organisation support local enterprise to deliver social objectives that help make a real difference in our local community. As an organisation located in the heart of our County we have a vested interest in having a CSR initiative that helps people in our locality and recognise that to be a successful company we need a successful, thriving, developing community.
We care about the people in our community, be they our clients, our suppliers, our own people, or the people who simply live close to us. Also, we care about the impact our business has long into the future, not simply today.
With this in mind SC&C have chosen to support and promote the work of Rock-IT Enterprise a Sussex based Community Interest Company (CIC) Limited by Guarantee, with the founding partners being Albion in the Community; the registered charity of Brighton & Hove Albion FC, Abcom; a successful Sussex I.T. company, RML Community Partners; a Sussex based social enterprise business consultancy, American Express and Brighton & Hove County Council through its Education Business Partnership that works with young people aged 16-24 who are not in education or training (Neets) or who have left education with little or no qualifications and seek improved employment opportunities. SC&C feels that Rock-IT helps those within our community, where help is most needed.
Young people in Sussex are recruited to the Rock-IT course through The Albion in the Community delivered 'Opt In+' and 'Want to Work' programmes which already attracts otherwise disengaged youngsters into a life skills and personal development course through the power and excitement of being linked to a major football club and is delivered at the fabulous new AMEX Stadium in Brighton.
Further recruitment by Rock-IT is made through its growing links with schools, FE colleges and the Department of Work and Pensions. All of the young people who complete the 'Opt In+ 'course are offered placement on the Rock-IT course. This assumed progression is designed to keep the young people engaged and through their links with FE colleges give them the best possible opportunity to progress onto further education, training, volunteering or employment and break the cycle of dis-engagement.
Rock-IT will initially be a Sussex based I.T. refurbishment outlet and re-sale operation, built upon attracting Sussex based corporate entities gifting significant levels of 2nd generation I.T. equipment, especially laptops, desktops and screens as part of a clear community focused Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
