Chichester is the county town of West Sussex and its only city. Located on the River Lavant south of its gap through the South Downs. It is home to a magnificent 12th century cathedral and boasts some of the oldest churches and buildings in Great Britain. The seat of the Bishopric was moved to Chichester in 1075.
Chichester has three tiers of local government. It is a centre for culture in the county with a theatre, museum and art galleries.
The main economy of the city is the tourist industry, and several marinas are situated in the area along with related industries. There are also a number of out of town industrial parks.
It is a transport hub with good road, rail and bus links to the city centre. However public transport to and from the industrial parks are poor at best. With this in mind most of our cleaners use their cars to get around.
